The Unthinkable Book Revised and Updated

Great news! Amanda Ripley has updated her 2008 book Unthinkable with entirely new content on risks and hazards that we were not anticipating not that long ago. If you didn’t read that one, you should order it.

The new updated book is described this way on Amanda’s LinkedIn page:

“It’s been 16 years since The Unthinkable came out, but it feels more like 60. A lot has happened: A pandemic. Smartphones & social media. Distrust & polarization. Arctic zombie viruses! Cryptoworms! Oh my!

For all these reasons, I’m relieved to announce the new and improved Unthinkable -- out August 20th! Extensive new material on the pandemic, climate change, social media, how to rebuild trust and other, more recent calamities, from plane crashes to earthquakes.

The bottom line: Disasters are more frequent and more costly than they were when this book first came out. But they’re also more survivable. Your brain, your body and your neighbors will not behave the way you think. I hope reading this book will leave you more confident about what matters, how to prepare and whom to trust.”

The book is available to pre-order now at Amazon: The Unthinkable (Revised and Updated): Who Survives When Disaster Strikes--and Why

I’ve pre-ordered mine and I highly recommend the book to you!

And, I hope to have Amanda come on my Disaster Zone Podcast to discuss the book.
