be sure and carry your passport at all times

Just another day in the turmoil of the last two months. See article, ‘This is horrifying’: FEMA reviewing disaster aid that could help migrants

What is at stake is how we treat human beings impacted by a disaster. It would appear, that we all might need to start carrying our passports with us at all times. Remember movies about World War II and a German soldier walks up to you and says, “mir deine Papiere.“ Meaning, Show me your papers! (identification). Basically, who are you? What are you doing? Where are you going?

Here’s one critical paragraph from the article, The two-page memo sent to senior officials at the Federal Emergency Management Agency and it‘s 10 regional offices on Feb. 14 also orders the agency to review nongovernmental organizations that “provide assistance” to undocumented immigrants. That could include groups like the American Red Cross that offer food, shelter and medical care to disaster survivors regardless of their immigration status.“

If you have been following the news, you can see how other actions the Trump Administration has already taken against colleges and Universities works to make them compliant with their governmental policies, using funding as a hammer to have the organization change their processes, procedures and values.

Translate this to Sanctuary Cities and might FEMA funding be withheld because of their internal policies.

It is going to be a very interesting four years indeed.
