how a firetruck is manufactured
This topic is definitely on the lighter side. However, I found the segment on Prime Video’s series on Mega Manufacturing to be very interesting. The link will take you to the entire series that covers different types of manufacturing, from airplanes to tires. One of the topics is S1 E3 - Pierce Manufacturing: Fire Trucks. They go through the complete process of building the largest type of truck (ladder) from building the frame, cab, ladder, engine, water pump and all the installation that comes with customizing each truck to the specific needs of the buyer.
What struck me especially was the weight of such a truck that comes from all its components. The frame was 4,000lbs and the water tank’s water weighs 25,500lbs.
I think everyone, not just firefighters will find the segment of interest.
