Don't Go Into the Water

When I saw the movie Jaws when it was first released, I made up my mind to never go into the ocean! But, today I’m not talking about sharks, instead it is now Tropical Storm Ernesto (which could turn into a hurricane again) that will be churning up the East Coast of the United States the next few days.

The threat is not storm surge this time, but high tides and rip currents that can sweep swimmers out to sea. Given the “high incidence” of uninformed people in our modern world, I expect that many young people are not paying attention to a storm that will never make landfall, but can still be a hazard to life safety.

Warn those you know who are headed to the beach!
